Locations

DIAGON ALLEY

Diagon Alley can be entered from Muggle London through the Leaky Cauldron on Charing Cross Road. There are also several public floos and apparition points throughout Diagon Alley for anyone to use.

Most wizarding shops and restaurants should be assumed to be in either Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade. Feel free to make up locations as you need them. Just comment to this post when you do so they can be added to the list and we don't end up with thirty different pubs in Diagon.

Shops:
  • Daily Prophet Offices
  • Eeylops Owl Emporium
  • Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour
  • Flourish and Blotts (books)
  • Gambol and Japes Wizarding Joke Shop
  • Gringotts Wizarding Bank
  • The Leaky Cauldron
  • Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions
  • Magical Menagerie (pets)
  • Obscurus Books
  • Ollivander's Wand Shop
  • Owl Post Office
  • Pottidge's Cauldron Shop
  • Quality Quidditch Supplies
  • Slug & Jiggers Apothecary
  • Twilfitt and Tatting's (upscale clothing)
  • Whizz Hard Books
KNOCKTURN ALLEY

While there is some legitimate business that takes place in Knockturn Alley and most of what is sold there is technically legal (at least what is publicly on display as you never know when an Auror is going to pay a visit to your shop to "check up on things") much of the true business is in backroom dealings and merchandise that never sees the sales floor. But only for customers who have proven that they are able to pay the often steep prices and keep their mouths shut. Being seen in Knockturn Alley does not automatically make someone a criminal, but it's definitely not a place for children or women of polite society.

Access to Knockturn Alley is through Diagon Alley or the one public floo, although a few shops do maintain private floo access for loyal and trustworthy customers.

Comment if you have shops to be added to Knockturn Alley, but please do remember that shops need to maintain a semi-legitimate (if not exactly respectable) front and won't be named "Moste Evile Tomes" or anything of the sort.

Shops:
  • Aloysius's Apothecary
  • Borgin & Burkes (Dark Arts items)
  • The Lyre and the Snake (books)
HOGSMEADE

As the only all-wizarding village in Britain, Hogsmeade is home to a fairly sizeable population of wizards who choose to live there and shops that draw patrons from around the country. There are several apparition points and public floos in Hogsmeade, as well as Hogsmeade station for people who want to take the train from London.

Again, feel free to comment to add shops to the list here.

Shops:
  • Dervish & Banges (magical instruments)
  • Gladrags Wizardwear
  • The Hog's Head (pub)
  • Honeydukes (sweets)
  • Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop
  • Owl Post Office
  • Scrivenshaft's Quill Shop
  • The Three Broomsticks Inn
  • Tinker Toys
  • Zonko's Joke Shop
OTHER LOCATIONS

Azkaban: Azkaban is Britain's wizarding prison located on an island in the middle of the North Sea. Dementors guard the prison and it is a very horrible place that you don't want to ever go. It is unplottable, there is no apparition onto or off of the island and the only way to reach it is via boat or a single, highly guarded floo connection from Level Ten of the Ministry. Department of Magical Law Enforcement employees are the only people allowed to visit the prison and only with authorization from the head of DMLE.

St. Mungo's: Entrance to St. Mungo's in London is by stepping through the window of a red-bricked, condemned department store called Purge and Dowse, Ltd or via floo into the reception area.

There are several floors:
  • The Ground Floor holds the reception area and Artifact Accidents.
  • The First Floor is Creature-Induced Injuries
  • The Second Floor is Magical Bugs and Diseases
  • The Third Floor is Potions and Plant Poisoning
  • The Fourth Floor is Spell Damage, including the Janus Thickey Ward for long-term residents
  • The Fifth Floor is the visitors' tearoom and hospital shop
For the purposes of this game, Healers are the equivalent of physicians while Mediwizard/Mediwitch is a catch-all term for other equivalent medical professionals including nurses, medical technicians and paramedics.

Hogwarts: If you don't know by now, we can't help you.
